Senior Program Manager

Blackmore Sensors and Analytics, Inc. seeks an experienced senior technical Program Manager to contribute to their Engineering Program Management group. Blackmore develops LIDAR engines, sensors, and analytical tools for both military and commercial markets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Program Manager will have responsibility for ensuring overall success of major company engineering programs.  The Sr. Program Manager provides the formal interface between the project’s performance and the Executive team.   

  • Job expectations include leading complex cross functional programs, developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, product requirements, risk analysis, mitigation plans, design documentation and leading phase gate reviews.  The successful candidate:

  • Will have the ability to independently assess and articulate options, risks, and trade-offs of technical issues with the team and management and drive decision closure.

  • Can analyze project needs and resource options, make assignments, coordinate planning, and implement staffing plans

  • Demonstrate risk mgmt skills including issue escalation, establish acceptable risk criteria and independent judgment.

  • Ensure program communication among all organizations within the company is sufficient to develop realistic project plans, achieve buy-in and commitment to these plans and execute the plans.

Please note that these are required:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics

  • 7+ years work experience in engineering / program management with 2+ years managing cross functional teams

  • Strong track record of managing new product development as a part of a program management or technical team

  • Experience working and communicating directly with engineers, management and executives

  • Excellent presentation, business, analytical problem solving, and communication skills both written and verbalIt would be HELPFUL if you had some of these:

  • PMP Certification, Agile project management methodology experience

  • Experience in automotive, optical and/or photonic component markets
