Photonics Engineer I/II
Blackmore Sensors and Analytics, Inc. seeks a Photonics Engineer to contribute to their research and product development efforts. Blackmore develops lidar engines, sensors, and analytics for both defense and commercial markets.
Optical and photonics aspects of Blackmore’s 3D Lidar Imaging systems, but may also involve both electrical and mechanical aspects.
Please note that these are required:
B.S. in Photonics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantum Electronics, Physics, or equivalent field
Demonstrated excellence and work ethic in a laboratory environment
Ability to take initiative and work independently to solve challenging problems
Team player with strong written and oral communication skills.
It would be really cool if you had some of these:
M.S. or higher in Photonics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent field
Strong theoretical background in Fourier optics, diffraction theory, imaging systems, signal processing, solid state optics, integrated photonics, and/or laser systems
Expertise in ladar, lidar, laser remote sensing, and imaging
Experience with any of the following software: Matlab, Python, C++/C#/CUDA, Java, Zemax, Code5

This is a full-time, salaried position. Occasional travel may be required.
