Blackmore Sensors and Analytics, Inc. seeks an Optical Scientist to contribute to their Lidar product engineering efforts. Blackmore develops lidar engines, sensors, and analytics for both defense and commercial markets.
Optical systems engineering including simulation, Beta product development, validation, simulation, hardware integration, testing, and productization leading up to system release. Create test procedures, write technical reports, and present findings.
Please note that these are required:
M.S. in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent field,
Five years of experience in the field of electro-optics and/or free space optics
Strong background in electro-optic systems, lidar or radar, diffraction theory, imaging systems, integrated photonics and/or laser systems
Experience with any of the following software tools: Matlab, Python, C++, Java, Zemax
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead tasks to solve challenging problems
Team player with demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
It would be really cool if you had some of these:
PhD in a scientific or engineering discipline
Strong theoretical and experimental background in electromagnetics, photonics, Fourier optics, diffraction theory, imaging systems, and/or signal processing
Experience in lidar, radar, laser remote sensing, and imaging

This is a full-time, salaried position. Occasional travel may be required.
