We are looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development and management of internal control policies and procedures. This position requires leadership as well as detailed attention to timeliness, an accuracy of reporting and other financial analysis, providing the executive team with the most relevant information to make informed business decisions.
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, cash management, GL and project cost accounting, federal government contract accounting, materials, inventory and cost accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Build and manage an accounting team which may be in excess of 10 staff. This includes development, recruiting and training as needed.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the information
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, in accordance with policies and procedures as directed by the executive team.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, in accordance with regulatory policies and procedures.
Lead and execute month-end and year-end close process
Ensure proper review and quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Implement effective internal controls
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Manage the audit process and relationships with US / international audit firms.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Proven experience as a controller/senior accountant
15+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Degree in Accounting (BA or MA)
Technology software, hardware and manufacturing experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures and ability and willingness to learn regulatory policies and procedures (FARS).
Experience creating financial statements as well as general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Experience with complex ERP and financial systems
Experience implementing new financial systems and processes, and in re-engineering practices for efficiency
Experience with multi-currency accounting a plus
Experience with consolidations of multiple entities
